The bell top has scrolling supports and is surmounted by a flaming urn on tri-feet. The base sits upon scrolled feet with a tasseled fringe. The dial is silver plated bronze, decorated with cherubs in a sunray sky and is mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches and blued steel hands. The French movement is of high quality and is by Samuel Marti. It is the large, square plated version of the Pendule de Paris movement. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Silver plated pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a large bell mounted underneath the removable top. Click the video below to hear the bell and watch the clock running. Condition of the case is excellent, silver plating is bright and clean with minor areas of discolouration. It has been lacquered to avoid tarnishing. Dial is also very good with restoration next to the winding holes which is slightly discoloured.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free. |
