Large Antique French Gilt Bronze Rococo Clock

A large, superb and very decorative original antique French clock. It is boldly modelled in the Rococo style in finely gilded bronze. Asymmetric waisted case, decorated profusely with acanthus leaves and 'C' scrolls. To the top is a large elaborate final of stylised foliage with a 'C' scroll. It is of lovely quality, heavily made but with a crisp, light design.

A large and stunning antique French gilt bronze clock set by Japy Freres. It is Rococo in style, a bold, asymmetric balloon shape profusely decorated with acanthus and floral swags. To the top is a flaming finial, the candelabra have flaming snuffers to match. The design is beautifully bold, heavy and flowing.

A large and stunning clockset of beautiful modelled bronzed patinated metal figures mounted on ebonised wooden bases, not marked but after Xavier Raphanel. The clockset is a brilliant depiction of adventure. A sailor at the helm of a small wooden boat, riding a boiling froth of a sea, full of life and vigor. Followed by Le pilote, the sailor explores a far off land and then La Rentree (the return) is a charming depiction of a mother and child.

A large, unusual and very decorative original French antique cartel wall clock. It is classical in design, hanging from a large gilt brass bow with a laurel wreath. The clock is mounted in a toleware body with original blue painted finish. Below the dial is an eagle with cornucopia to each side, heavily modelled in gilt brass.

Antique French Gilt Bronze Cartel Wall Clock

A stunning Baroque style antique French cartel wall clock. It is beautifully modelled in gilded bronze in the shape of a shield. To the sides are bold acanthus scrolls with finely fretted panels and to the top is a shield and a pair of urns. The dial is very large and features 12 individual enamel cartouche letters and delicately fretted, blued steel hands. To the bottom is a niches with a shell motif.

A very decorative antique French Japy Freres cartel wall clock. It is beautifully modelled in metal which has been gilded with gold leaf to give an appearance similar to that of carved wood and gesso. The dial is enamel on copper lettered in blue with separate minute ring. It is complete with original finely fretted gilt brass hands. The back of the clock has an old repairers label.
