The large white porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals and original finely pierced gilt brass hands, is set within a bezel with convex glass. The French movement is of superb quality and is by Japy Frères. It is in excellent, clean running order, having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. The pendulum is a replacement. The movement runs for eight days and strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell. A demonstration video is available to both hear the strike and observe the clock in operation, please see below. Condition of the case is excellent, the gilding is in very good condition with some tarnish and discolouration. The dial is also very good, it has faded over time and has hairlines and a chip next to the right hand winding hole.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free. |
