Antique French Gilt Bronze Clock by A D Mougin ~ French - Circa 1890 ~ ~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~ A stunning original antique French gilt bronze clock. It is modelled in the Baroque style with profuse acanthus decoration applied to the waisted case. The front is fretted to allow the pendulum to be seen swinging within. It has been beautifully prepared in our workshop, ready for you to display.

The dial is cream porcelain enamel on copper with separately lettered minute ring and finely cut gilt brass hands. The bezel is glazed with convex glass, the rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is by A. D. Mougin and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.
