The dial is formed on the front face of the bronze sphere with individually gilt brass letters, it is complete with its original "cupid's arrows" hands also in gilt brass.
The French movement is of high quality and is by Vincenti et Cie. It in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. The backplate has both the Charles Hour mark and the Vincenti mark. The special clump pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!
Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The bronze sphere is also in excellent condition just some small marks and some wear around the winding holes. The marble is also excellent with a good polish. There may have been a repair to one of the candelabra bases at some point or it could be a natural fissure in the rock, it is not noticeable. The candelabra bases and metal work have been discretely drilled for electrical cables at some time. Candelabra are slightly distorted. The set makes a really stunning display as you can see below.

About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free.
