The dial is matted silvered brass, screen printed with numerals and with square formed blued steel hands. The bezel is chrome plated with specially scalloped and bevelled glass. The French movement is of high quality and is by Lebrejale of Paris. It is a traditional 'Pendule de Paris' movement with a quality lever escapement (no setting up is required). It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the onyx has a good polish with some minor nibbles to the edges and a small crack on one of the green onyx blocks along a natural striation. The Bronze pheasant has wear to the original plating and the bronze has naturally patinated to a lovely brown. The dial is also very good, some fading and discolouration and wear to the screen printed lettering. The bevelled glass is excellent and original.
Complete with bell and a suitable key. A clock guide will be supplied if required.
About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free. |
