A large and beautiful depiction of the famous Midland Compound, here the LMS built 1066, racing along with a full head of steam, safety valves lifted. It is an oil on canvas by the accomplished railway artist Ken Allsebrook, (there is one of his works on the BBC your paintings website) we have been fortunate to secure 5 paintings by the artist. It is signed and dated '85 to the bottom left and also to the rear. To the rear is the title of the painting "Compound at Kirkby South Junction"
