Compagnie Des Bronzes built an international reputation for monumental bronzes, producing many important items. The foundry in Brussels is now a museum.

The dial is heavy silvered bronze with convex glass. It is mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches and is complete with original fretted blued steel hands.

The French movement is of very high quality and has the "Cie Des Bronzes" mark on the movement backplate. It is of the best quality, featuring rack striking and pin-pallet escapement. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement.  It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a sonorous bell. Click the video clip below to hear the gong and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright, highly polished finish and there are no losses. There are some minor areas of wear, marks and discoloration in places. The dial has some chipping to the number 7 cartouche and a some light scratches to the silvering. The original glass has some light scratching and the candelabra arms are slightly distorted.

Compagnie Des Bronzes case makers mark on the movement backplate and signed on the dial

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.

About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free.
