Antique French Rococo Boudoir Clock

A very decorative original antique French boudoir clock. It is Rococo in style, modelled in gilt brass, boldly scrolling, asymmetric waisted case with 'C' scrolls, floral bouquet and swags and an urn to the top. To the side of the dial are stylised acanthus leaves and above is an asymmetric scroll top. It makes for a stunning display as you can see below.

The dial is white enamel on copper with blue lettering for the hours and a separate minute ring in black. It has a convex glass and blued steel hands.

The French movement is by A. D. Mougin and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just an occasional light scratch here and there.
