Stunning Antique Rococo French Clock Set - Vincenti et Cie

A stunning French Rococo candelabra clock set which is both high quality and of unusual design. Clock and candelabra are vase shaped brass hollow ware decorated with repousse, mounted with heavy gilt brass bases and lions mask handles. The top of the clock is surmounted by a gilded cherub holding aloft a floral swag. The candelabra arms are modelled as flowing foliage, well modelled and gilded. The dial is beautifully enamelled with a maiden in a landscape.

The Vincenti et Cie movement is of excellent quality and has the makers mark on the back plate of the movement along with the original retailers mark, H. Luppens of Paris. The movement runs for 8 days and strikes on a bell and is in excellent, clean and running condition. Click the movie below to hear the bell strike.

Condition of the case is excellent, there are no losses and the finish of the gilt brass and the brass hollow ware is bright and clean. Candelabra arms are very slightly distorted. The enamel dial is in very good condition - just a faint hairline at 7 o'clock.

The clock is complete with its original bell, pendulum and a key.
