Lilac Variegated Marble and Gilt Portico Clock Set - Highly Decorative

A superb marble and gilt brass portico clock complete with vases. The cases is made of the most beautiful variegated specimen marble which is mounted with gilt brass. The original pendulum is visible below the clock and is Mithras, the sun-god, who conquers all demons of darkness, within a sun burst. The enamel dial is decorated with delicate floral swags and the original gilt hands.

The French movement is of excellent quality and is by the Parisian maker Marcel Corpet (Rue Amerlot 84, Paris). It runs for 8 days and strikes on a bell and is in excellent, clean and running condition - it is complete with the original bell and pendulum.

Condition of the clock and vases is excellent, the marble has a good finish. The enamel dial is also in excellent condition and has the rubbed retailers name. We have replaced the back feet of the clock with similar feet since the originals were missing.
