Stunning Gilt Brass Clock with Lions Rampant - Samuel Marti.

A Very decorative gilt brass clock featuring a pair of Lions Rampant. To the sides are depictions of goddess Nike and beneath the dial is a goddess mask. Clock is beautifully modelled and the gilding in very good clean and bright condition.

Back door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The dial is enamel on copper with a finely fretted brass centre and is complete with original blued steel hands.

The French movement is by Samuel Marti and is signed on the movement backplate. It is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding on the high spots. There is some scratching to the original bevelled glass. The dial has some slight hair-lining to the edge at the seven o'clock position.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
