Antique French Brass Clock Set - Japy Freres

A large and beautiful Japy Freres brass clock set. Style is French gothic, with a lions mask, mythical creatures and foliage. Candelabra have conforming bases and urns which are surmounted by four branches. Set is well modelled and has clean and bright finish.

The dial is enamel on copper and features the Japy Freres mark just below the 12 o'clock. The dial is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

Japy Freres movement is of the highest quality. Our clockmaker has cleaned and serviced the movement and it is in excellent clean and running condition. We have replaced the missing pendulum. It runs for 8 days - click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is very good with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some wear to the surface and some minor discolouration / tarnish in places. The arms of the candelabra are slightly distorted. Two arms have re-attached with slightly different brass nuts. One sconce has been replaced at sometime. This is a great looking clock set as you can see below!

Complete with pendulum and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
