RARE CERAMIC CASE ~ PRETTY ROSES Circa 1900. A very pretty and unusual antique ceramic cartel clock in swirling asymmetric, rococo design with roses and over-glaze gilt decoration. The body is similar to mid Victorian Staffordshire with what looks like lead glaze - however dates from the turn of the 20th century and is probably continental. The movement is a lovely little Marti Balance escapement movement which keeps reasonable time and is in unrestored, clean and running condition. Condition of the generously proportioned case is excellent, with no chips, cracks or restoration, just some wear to the over-glaze gilt decoration and a little glaze crazing commensurate with age. The dial is in excellent condition, the blue lettering is ever so slightly faded. An absolutely delightful clock and so unusual ~ perfect for the light and pretty Cath Kidston, English Country look or the country chic Gustavian interior! 24" High. Dimensions: Height
