Antique French Brass Table Clock

A superbly modelled brass table clock of gothic design. The deign is light due to the fretted sides of the the case. The clock stands on hairy paw feet and is surmounted by an urn with mythical creatures. This is a very decorative clock of a good size, nicely modelled and in excellent condition.

The superb dial is designed in the manner of 18th century examples with separate enamel cartouches for each number, applied to a repousse brass background.

French movement is of excellent quality and runs for 8 days and strikes on a bell and is in excellent, clean and running condition - it is complete with a replacement pendulum and original bell.

The finish of the brass is very good - bright and clean. There are some small areas of wear or discoloration. There is a slight chip on the 12 o'clock cartouche which is hardly noticeable.

A quality clock in excellent condition!
