Scottish Antique Georgian Mahogany Grandfather Clock

A beautiful Scottish mahogany longcase clock of well figured mahogany. The elegant mahogany case is highlighted with stringing and cross banding and has a good rich colour. It is unusual in being a wedding clock - the round white dial has the names of the bride and groom.  

The clock runs for 8 days and strikes hourly on a bell.

The movement is in excellent clean and fully running condition having been cleaned and serviced by our clockmaker. The seconds and calendar subsidiary dials are also fully functioning. 

The case in excellent condition with a beautiful patina. There has been some wood worm damage in the past - this looks to be long dead, however you should periodically check for new activity and treat with wood worm solution as necessary. We have replaced the seat board and the floor of the trunk. The mahogany has some holes which are old and do not detract from the display of the clock. The only other restoration is to the rear feet and some repair to the swan neck pediment. The hand cut brass hands are original as are the weights. The pendulum is a well made replacement. We have replaced the silk over the sound frets on the side of the hood.
