Antique French Gilt Brass Clock Set, Dragons.

A very decorative clock set by Samuel Marti, featuring two dragons holding the clock aloft. Clock movement itself is fitted in a drum with the pendulum visible swinging below. The candelabra are similarly modelled as dragons holding banners, on top of which is mounted five light candelabrum.

The dial is enamel on copper, white with roman numerals and delicately lined minute ring, half hour markers and pattern to the centre. It is fitted with fretted brass hands and and egg and dart bezel.

The Samuel Marti French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running, including visible pendulum!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding on the high spots. The dial has some slight chipping near the 12 o'clock and some hair lining. The set displays beautifully as you can see below!
