A large and stunning antique French gilt brass clock set of Rococo design by Japy Freres. The clock is of typical Rococo design, with C scrolls and foliage. Both the modelling of the brass and the finish are of the highest quality and the clock looks great as you can see in the pictures. The movement backplate has the Japy Freres mark and the Paris retailers mark. This is a large, heavy, high quality clock.

The beautiful original enamel dial and the brass hands are in excellent condition. Japy Freres movement is of excellent quality as usual from this famous maker, runs for 8 days, strikes on a bell and is in excellent, clean and running condition -  it is complete with the original bell and a replacement pendulum.

The finish of the case is very good - bright and clean. The gilding has worn on the high spots - clock looks stunning as you can see below. There is no damage to the dial.
