Japy Freres Rococo Antique French Clock Set - Large and Superb.

A stunning, tall and majestic original antique French Rococo clock and candelabra set. Beautiful Louis XV waisted shape with "C" scrolls, shells and floral swags. The front of the clock is fretted to lighten the design and also to allow the pendulum to be glimpsed swinging within the case. Candelabra are over 2 ft tall and are complete with Rococo finials. The four arms are modelled as entwining foliage, standing above urns with scroll handles. The set is of very good quality with crisp, sharp and finely detailed modelling and the gilding has a lovely clean and bright finish.

The dial is cream enamel on copper with blue lettering. It has a Rococo bezel and fretted brass hands.

The movement is of excellent quality and is by the famous maker Japy Freres and has the clockmaker's 'Grande Medaille D'Honneur' mark on the movement backplate. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes half-hourly on a bell. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Condition of the case is excellent with a bright and clean finish, occasional very minor wear or discolouration. Dial is also in very good condition with just some very small nibbles around the winding holes. The blue lettering has faded. The candelabra arms are very slightly distorted. The set looks great as you can see in the pictures below! 

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
