Marble and Ormolu Clock Set.

A beautiful antique French marble and ormolu (gilded brass) portico clock set. It is classical in style, the clock is mounted between a classical four column portico. It is surmounted by a marble urn with flame final. The bases are carved in a serpentine shape. Urns are ovoid in shape with ormolu handles and pineapple finials.

Marble is a very nicely figured specimen marble and the ormolu mounts are finely modelled. Pendulum is a basket of flowers and can been seen swinging below the movement between the columns of the case.

The dial is enamel on copper, decorated with floral swags delicately painted between the numbers of the dial. Hands are gilded fretted brass.

The French movement is by Soci�t� Clusienne of Cluses near the Swiss border. It is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. it is complete with its original ormolu pendulum, runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, marble has a very good polish with no major chips or scratches, just the usual tiny nibbles to the edges. Ormolu is also in very good condition with a bright and clean finish. Dial is in very good condition with just some minor chipping at the 12 o'clock.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
