The panels below are finely painted with floral swags. Porcelain has a blue ground with beautifully painted over glaze gilt decoration, each is numbered and signed to the rear (see the picture below). The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with blue lettering and a separate minute ring. Unusually the case is also numbered and signed for the renown bronze founder Henri Picard who often worked for Raingo Frères.

The French movement is by Raingo Frères and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker and thoroughly tested. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Zacharie Raingo was apprenticed in Paris in 1790 and went on to establish Raingo Frères in 1813. Initially specialising in precision astronomical clocks and then after 1825 clocks and bronzes. About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free.
