Antique French Gilt Bronze Clock Set ~ French - Circa 1880 ~ ~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~ A beautiful original antique French clock set by Louis Japy. It is Baroque in style with bold scrolls, a goddess mask, acanthus urn and paw feet. Candelabra are conforming in style with five lights.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with original blued steel hands, bronze centre and convex glass.

The French movement is of high quality and is by Louis Japy. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with just some slight discolouration and tarnish. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles to the winding holes. Candelabra arms are slightly distorted.
