Antique Candelabra Clock Set.

A very decorative clock set of gothic style. The set is finely cast in gilt brass - clock case is modelled with four pillars with twists and knops and sits on lions mask feet. The candelabra have conforming square bases also with lions mask feet. Sea serpents rise up each side of the knops of the candelabra.

The dial is superb, having a cast background mounted with individual letters which are enamel on copper in the manner of Louis XVI examples.

The movement is by Samuel Marti et Sie and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully cleaned and serviced by our clockmaker. It runs for 8 days and strikes on a bell - click the movie below to hear the bell. It is complete with the original bell and a replacement pendulum.

Condition of the case is excellent with no losses or damage. The finish of the gilt brass is clean and bright and looks wonderful as you can see in the pictures below. The majority of the gilding is still present with some wear to the high spots and some slight tarnish / discolouration.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
