Marble and Ormolu Portico Boudoir Clock

A very pretty boudoir clock, made of the most beautiful variegated specimen marble which is mounted with ormolu / gilt brass. The original pendulum is visible below the clock and is Mithras, the sun-god, who conquers all demons of darkness, within a sun burst. The enamel dial is decorated with delicate floral swags and is complete with the original finely fretted gilt hands. The back door of the clock is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of excellent quality and is by the Parisian maker Marcel Corpet (Rue Amerlot 84, Paris). It runs for 8 days and strikes on a bell and is complete with the original bell and pendulum. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker and is in excellent working order. Condition of the case is excellent, the marble has a good polish and the ormolu is clean and bright with just some minor wear/tarnish in places. The dial is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The back door has a chip to the edge of the original glass and some surface scratches.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
