Large Antique French Porcelain and gilt  Clock Set - A.D Mougin

Magnificent Crowned Lion Rampant table clock. This regal clock is superb quality, finely modelled in brass. The crowned heraldic lion stands roaring defiance with his front paws grasping the clock which is housed within a drum decorated with classical motifs. The casting is particularly fine with sharp crisp detail and wonderful movement and expression. A spectacular clock!

The superb dial is designed in the manner of 18th century examples with separate enamel cartouches for each number, applied to a repousse brass background.

The A. D. Mougin balance movement is of the usual excellent quality, runs for 8 days and is in excellent, clean and running condition. It keeps reasonable time and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.

Condition of the clock is excellent, the finish of the brass is clean and bright. The dial is also in very good condition with no chips to the dial cartouches.
