Stunning Gilt and Marble Art Nouveau Clock - Japy Freres

A beautiful figural clock, a young woman walking in a breeze with a scarf above her head. The woman is well captured, full of life and movement. The figure is designed by the sculptor Charles Perron, who is listed in the Art Price database - his signature can be seen on the base of the figure along with the name of the piece - La Brise. The figure is gilt metal and the base of the clock is pink variegated marble with a good finish. A pretty floral swag on the enamel dial and delicate blued steel hands add the finish touch.

The movement is by Japy Freres and is of the company's usual high quality. It runs for 8 days and strikes half-hourly on a bell.

Condition of the clock is excellent. We have polished the gilded parts with gilt wax which looks great as you can see below. There are no pieces of the case missing. The Marble is also in very good condition with a good finish and no chips.

The movement is in excellent clean and running condition and has the Japy Freres trade mark on the back plate. The pendulum is an old replacement.

The clock will be supplied with pendulum, key and bell.
