Beautiful Boudoir Lyre Clock Set

A stunning Antique French lyre boudoir clock set, made in a beautiful figured green onyx, mounted with ormolu. It is the style of Louis XVI and dates from around 1890. The clock is the classic lyre shape, mounted with floral swags and a goddess mask and standing on an oval base. The mounts are high quality, finely finished and gilded. Candelabra are modelled as roses and have matching bases complete with delicate floral swags. 

The dial is very pretty with delicately painted floral swags between the numbers. It is enamel on copper and has the original gilt brass hands.

The French movement is by the famous maker A. D. Mougin and is of the highest quality. It is in excellent clean and running order having been serviced by our clockmaker.  Pendulum is original.  It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the ormolu is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. Green onyx is also in excellent condition with just some minor nibbles to the edges. The dial is also in very good condition with a slight hairline near the 9 o'clock.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
