Japy Freres Gilt Brass Clock Set.

A very decorative clock set by the famous maker Japy Freres. It is Louis XVI in style, classically architectural and decorated with flowing foliage and flowers. The front of the clock is fretted which allows a glimpse of the pendulum swinging inside the case. 

The dial is enamel on copper with and is signed by the retailer Maison Hanniet, Brussels. It is complete with the original blued steel hands.

The Japy Freres French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original.  It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some minor wear to the original gilding. Candelabra arms are slightly distorted. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
