~ Circa 1870 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ Finely painted Sevrs Style porcelain set this clock apart. The delicately painted panel is signed by the artist in the bottom right hand corner - see the picture below. It depicts a courtship scene in a corner of a romantic garden. The clock also has a porcelain dial painted with a landscape and landscapes to the clock columns and the urn. The metal case is crisply cast and is decorated in typical French manner with allegories of love - quiver of arrows and the torch. Movement is of high quality and strikes a bell on the hours and halves. The movement is marked for the Paris distributor H.P & Cie and also stamped "Silver Medal". The movement runs for 8-days and strikes on a bell every half hour. The movement is in excellent clean and running condition - the clock is ready for you to display in your home. Click here to watch the clock running! Click here to hear the bell strike! Condition of the the movement is excellent - we have cleaned and serviced the movement - it runs very well and keeps good time. Pendulum is an old replacement and we have replaced the steel hands which were damaged. Condition of the porcelain is excellent - there is some very slight wear to the dial lettering. The case is also in excellent condition - the original gilding has some wear and bubbling - we have brightened the case with a little gilt wax to bring up the gilding. There are no losses to the delicately cast metal case. The clock comes complete with pendulum, key and bell!
