French gilt brass candelabra clock set with Sevres style pink ground porcelain panels.

~ Victorian - Circa 1870 ~

~~ Excellent condition ~~

Exceptionally pretty French clock set by the famous clockmaker S. Marti et Sie. The Sevres style porcelain panel, dial and vases are very nicely painted with Pompadour Rose ground. The dial is painted with a winged cherub, the panel children, and the vases with a country scene. The case is profusely decorated in typical French style with floral swags. The pretty gilt hands are original. The clock runs for 8 days and strikes on a bell every half-hour. Click here to hear the strike!

The candelabra are complete with their snuffers which fit into the central sconce when not in use.

Condition is excellent. The movement is in original clean and fully working condition. The pendulum has been replaced but is as the original would have been. The case is in very good condition - there is no damage to the porcelain. The gilding is in good condition - there is some wear but this is minor and the clock looks great as you can see in the pictures. We have lightly waxed the case to bring up the gilt. The candelabra are in very condition. The arms are slightly distorted as usual and there is some wear to the gilding.

A very decorative piece for your home!
