Large Antique French Rococo Clock Set

A stunning, tall and majestic original antique French Rococo clock and candelabra set. Beautiful Louis XV waisted shape with "C" scrolls, shells and floral swags. The front of the clock is fretted to lighten the design and also to allow the pendulum to be glimpsed swinging within the case. Candelabra are over 2 ft tall and are complete with Rococo snuffers. The four arms are modelled as entwining foliage, standing above urns with scroll handles. The set is of very good quality with crisp, sharp and finely detailed modelling and the gilding has a lovely clean and bright finish.

The dial is cream enamel with delicate floral swags and is complete with blued steel hands.

The movement is of very good quality, runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes half-hourly on a bell. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. Click the movie below to see and hear the movement working!

Condition of the case is excellent with a bright and clean finish, occasional very minor wear or discolouration. Dial is also in very good condition with just some very faint hairlines. The candelabra are very slightly distorted and there is an old repair to one central stem. The set looks great as you can see in the pictures below! 

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
