Antique French Boudoir Clock

A very pretty French Boudoir clock, beautifully made from gilded brass. The case is architecturally modelled and decorated with mythical creatures and flowing foliage. The front of the case is finely fretted, allowing the pendulum to be seen swinging inside. The modelling of the case is beautiful and is of the highest quality with sharp detail and the original gilding is clean, bright and fresh.

The beautiful enamel on copper dial had a brass centre and delicately fretted blued steel hands.

French movement is of high quality and runs for 8 days on one wind. It has been fully overhauled by our clockmaker who has also replaced the pendulum.

Condition of the case is excellent - there are no losses and the finish of the gilding is bright and clean. The enamel dial is also in excellent condition with just some chipping around the winding holes. The clock displays beautifully as you can see below.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.

About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employee two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free.
