A very nice ceramic cartel clock, pretty rococo design with roses and over-glaze gilt decoration. The body is similar to mid Victorian Staffordshire with what looks like lead glaze - however dates from the turn of the 20th century. we think it is Belgium pottery as at this time Belgium made ceramic case were being fitted with French movements for the Belgium market. The movement is a lovely little Marti Balance escapement movement which keeps reasonable time and is in unrestored clean and running condition.

Condition of the case is very good - just some wear to the over-glaze gilt decoration. The dial is in excellent condition, the blue lettering is ever so slightly faded.

24" high.
