Elegant French Candelabra Clock - S Marti
~ Victorian circa 1880 ~
This is an absolutely delightful little clock set of a quality one would associate with an earlier ormolu example. A very elegant design - pretty without being overly fussy. Well modeled in brass with quality features such as beveled convex glass and a two piece dial - enamel chapter ring with a gilt brass center.
The movement is a good quality example by S Marti et Sie. The movement strikes the hours and the halves on a bell - Click here to hear the strike. Condition of the Movement is excellent and it is clean and in running order. The case and the candelabra are also in excellent condition with only one or two minor and unnoticeable repairs.
This clock is small enough to go easily and very nicely on your mantle shelf - or would look great on your chiffonier or side table.
