The dial is cream with blue lettering and has a separate minute ring and convex glass the finely fretted . The French movement is of high quality and is b y Samuel Marti. The back plate has the Marti mark and the mark of the retailer Le Roy of Paris. The dial is also signed Auguste Le Roy, Horloger Breveté (Patent Clockmaker). Auguste Le Roy is listed Tardy Dictionnaire Des Horlogers having obtained a patent in 1867 for a water clock. The Le Roy name is well know in French Horology with many patents, inventions and improvements by Le Roys particularly marine chronometers. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is
excellent, beautifully clean and bright with hardly any
wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent
condition, there is some evidence of old restoration.
Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
