The dial is matted gold screen printed with stylised elongated numerals and complete with it's original square form blued steel hands. It is signed for the retailer Minier of Argenton. The French movement is of high quality and is by Pierre Megnin of Seloncourt. It is a traditional 'Pendule de Paris' movement with a pendulum. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video below to see the clock running and striking. Condition of the case is excellent, the celluloid veneer is very good with a couple areas of slight lifting or marks. There is some slight shrinkage at the base of one side piece. The original finish of the metal work has worn and faded to a lovely patina over time. The glass has been replaced at some time. The dial is also very good, some very slight fading to the lettering and the occasional mark.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employ two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free. |
